Meal of Millennials

If you’re a fan of brunch and are visiting or live in the Northern Irish capital, you’re in luck. The vegetarian brunch in Belfast options are thriving. Often touted as a favourite splurge of millennials (which we applaud), brunch culture is here to stay. This is no more evident than in Belfast. Cosy cafes that offer great coffee and tasty dishes, with often unexpected twists for this traditional city, are everywhere you look.

The one drawback? The difficult decision of which eatery to choose in-between drenching yourself in perfume at the counters of Victoria Square and clapping along to the buskers dotted around the city. But a choice you ultimately can’t go wrong with is, Established Coffee.

We aren’t exactly sure when it was “Established” per se, however we are grateful it arrived on the scene.

No More Avo

Brunch is great, but it can be bland. There is, after all, only so much avocado on toast a human should or could consume. Whereas it’s sometimes nice to try different things. Especially in a restaurant that isn’t afraid to take risks by changing things up and pulling favourites to encourage customers to embrace new flavours.

Nothing highlights a restaurants dedication and enthusiasm quite like a changing menu – it undeniably requires genuine passion for what they do to be constantly innovative with ingredients.

Sure, it might momentarily crush your own hopes a smidge when the previous outrageously delicious dish you ate there is now off the menu. But you can be grateful for the opportunity to experience more of their insanely good food and potentially find something that blows your mind all over again.

For those of you that can’t be swayed by unusual concoctions and enjoy the sheltered safety of ordering the same food over and over – they do fortunately have some menu staples. Their own favourites you certainly couldn’t remove without a riot: eggs on toast and their classic milk buns. Plus, sourdough toast, granola, and the usual sides – including avo for those of you who just can’t go without.

Seasonal Specials

But it’s their seasonal plates where Established Coffee really shine. A changing list of dishes so gobsmackingly good you will never look at brunch the same. They take risks on this menu, and it pays off.

Dishes such as an eggs benedict featuring an espresso drenched hollandaise with battered crunchy cauliflower; French toast with labneh and speculoos. They usually always offer a sweet dish: waffles with apple compote or exuberantly rich chocolatey offerings. Your tastebuds will not be disappointed.

It’s walk-in only, and it’s pretty popular to say the very least. Come early or willing to wait. We promise it will be worth it.
